Rose: A stateless light wallet for businesses: private by construction, attested at runtime
This talk introduces Rose, an open-source light wallet for self-custody and e-commerce. Rose exposes Bitcoin Core's RPC dialect, so existing payment integrations work unchanged. Unlike Electrum- and Esplora-backed wallets, Rose syncs over BIP-157 compact block filters and adds a live mempool feed for incoming-payment notifications, giving fast sync and 0-conf visibility without ever sending an address to a third-party server. It is stateless: the wallet is rebuilt from a seed, a derivation path and a birthday. That property is what lets Rose run inside a trusted execution environment, where the seed is released only to an attested, reproducible image, and where spending policies for e-commerce workflows can be enforced by code a counterparty verifies from the build hash. We walk through what a light wallet leaks, what it cost to close each leak, and what an enclave does and does not protect against. Rose is built in Rust on BDK, Kyoto and StageX.
