Recent exchange data leaks exposes bitcoin holders to attack, while Cashu mints currently operate as money service businesses, which exposes the mint operator to jurisdictional risks. Bitcoin mining avoids a “Layer-0” way to obtain on-chain privacy, by eliminating coin history altogether. To achieve this, we only need an accounting convert existing coins (or any form of payment) into freshly minted coins. Hashu provides such a mechanism by providing miners with a self-hosted proxy that mints hashrate-backed cashu tokens redeemable for an equivalent amount of hashrate (determined by hashprice) directed at customer‘s mining pool.
Hashu is built on the Cashu Development Kit and the Mining Development Kit for hashrate delivery.
