The permanent record for this hackathon project: write-up, links, team, tags, and prizes.
Honorable Mentions money in movement
BIP Atlas is a project to make Bitcoin Improvement Proposals easier and more enjoyable to understand through illustrations and interactive examples, especially for anyone whose attention span has already opened another tab (like, all of us?)
The write-up

BIP Atlas is a guide to Bitcoin Improvement Proposals for people who‘ve tried reading one and quietly closed the tab. For now it covers 18 topics, including Taproot, SegWit, seed phrases and HD wallets, and each one is explained with drawings and a small interactive figure you can click through. If your attention span has already opened another tab (so, all of us), this is for you.

I wanted it to be easy to read without being wrong, which turned out to be most of the work. None of the numbers on the page are typed in by hand. Every value in the text and figures comes from small, tested models of each BIP, and the build refuses to finish if any of them disagrees with the official test vectors. Every paragraph also points back to the exact lines of the BIP it’s based on, so if the spec says “SHOULD”, the site doesn‘t quietly turn it into “MUST”.

BIP Atlas is inspired by one of my favourite websites, https://makingsoftware.com. I wondered if I could vibe-code a BIP explainer for fun, so here we are. I think the website overall is good slop, occasionally a bit too slop, but everything is checked.

Hope you like it!
