Cashu NFT turns any JPG into a bearer collectible. The proof of ownership travels inside the image file itself, so the photo is the NFT. You can send it by email, AirDrop, a USB stick or a link, and whoever holds the file owns it. There‘s no blockchain, no gas and no wallet extension: it all runs in an ordinary browser, and on mobile. Around that sits a full marketplace with collections, profiles, likes and follows, where people buy and sell with private Bitcoin ecash over Lightning.
Under the hood it’s built on Cashu, the Chaumian ecash protocol. Each NFT is a blind-signed credential issued by a dedicated mint and embedded in the JPG‘s EXIF metadata. Because of the blind signatures, the mint stops double transfers without knowing who owns what. Trades don’t need a trusted middleman.
