The write-up
Inspiration
Hackathon demos are fun to watch, but what if there was something we could all participate in? A video game seems about right.
What it does
- local multiplayer top-down 2d space shooter
- displays on a local big screen
- players connect via their smartphone as their controller
How we built it
- aider + openrouter + claude
- vibes, man...
Challenges we ran into
- physics, thrust, choosing game physics
- joystick control feel/experience
Accomplishments that we're proud of
well it works
What we learned
Almost nothing; in fact I think I have lost knowledge by building this.
What's next for Space Shooter
- better graphics
- group achievement (level up as a group, proceed to next wave of enemies)
- sound effects (pew pew pew)
